When Mike was 10 years old, he sat in his basement playing along to Styx cassettes, with Renegade being the first song he learned. He played in ensembles throughout high school and college, and after he graduated, he decided to take a break and limited his playing to woodshedding in the basement. Returning to the live music scene in the early 2000’s, Mike has played with local bands, including Unfinished Business, The Swingin’ Wingos, Bridgeport Johnny, Sound Reason, Bad Penny, and CT-based singer/songwriter Mick Louis.

Mike’s major influences are Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd, Todd Sucherman, Tony Williams, Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy, and…of course, John Panozzo, Phil Ehart and Dennis Elliott!
